Conservatory Roof Replacement: Your Questions Answered
How long does it take?
We aim to have your conservatory watertight within a day. The build usually takes 3–5 working days on average, with around 7 for larger or more extensive works. Plastering and electrics follow, and in the vast majority of cases everything is finished within two weeks.
Will my conservatory be darker?
Only a little: around 5% less light when replacing polycarbonate and around 11% for glass. You can add Velux roof windows if you'd like more.
Will it take the weight?
Tapco tiles weigh about 12kg per square metre installed. A structural survey checks your frames, footings and brickwork before work starts.
What about building regulations?
We arrange approval and completion sign-off for you where needed, so you don't have to deal with the paperwork.
What about other approvals?
We can obtain the relevant approvals for you where required, and we'll go through what applies to your home at your survey.
Will I lose ceiling height?
In most cases, no. Your surveyor will confirm.
What colours are there?
Pewter Grey, Stone Black, Red Rock, Plum, Brick Red and Chestnut Brown.
When can I decorate?
Leave the plaster at least two to three weeks to dry.
What guarantee do I get?
A 10-year insurance-backed guarantee on the installation, and a 40-year manufacturer's guarantee on the Tapco tiles.
Can I spread the cost?
Finance options are available, subject to status.
